Lloydminster, AB/SK – To improve intersection efficiency and safety, the City of Lloydminster will install new left turn lanes and traffic signals at Highway 17 (50 Street) and 67 Street.

The intersection improvements will significantly upgrade the lane configuration and physical layout of the intersection. Dedicated left turn lanes will be added in the eastbound and westbound directions to increase the intersection's capacity. Installing new traffic signals will increase the level of service and safety for all directions of traffic. Advanced warning flashers will be installed north of the intersection to alert southbound highway traffic of the upcoming signals upon entering the city.

During construction, motorists are reminded to allow extra time for travel, slow down when driving in construction zones, and obey all signs, detours and barriers.

Weather permitting, the project is scheduled to begin in May 2023 and is expected to be completed by September 1, 2023. Additional information will be shared as the project start date nears.
